A Watershed Pride Month in LGBTQIA+ History

As Pride Month draws to a close, QOMPLX joins with the LGBTQIA+ community in celebrating this month’s victory for civil rights.

As June turns to July, QOMPLX joins its LGBTQIA+ employees, their families, and the community around the globe in marking the end of a historic Pride month, just over 50 years after the Stonewall Uprising.

For more than half a century, trans women and men, drag queens, gay men, and lesbians fought back against discrimination and brutality that too many LGBTQIA+ people still face today. This months Supreme Court ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County, which clarified that it’s unlawful to fire people because of who they are, is one result of decades of determination and activism by members of the LGBTQIA+ community, their friends, family, and people of goodwill.

We applaud the Court meeting the country where it is and where it is going. This ruling is a watershed event and it will eventually contribute to securing civil rights and protections in education, housing, accommodations, and health care for all Americans.

At QOMPLX, we believe that all people have equal value and deserve equal treatment. It isn’t always easy to meet these ideals, but striving toward them is a constant to which we must aspire. The ability to be your authentic self at work, at home, and in public is crucial to the economic wellbeing of every individual, household, or family.

Every Pride Month is an opportunity to reflect our own awareness, responsibility, and commitment to full equality - in our own overlapping communities’ treatment of one another and not just under the law. QOMPLX’s LGBTQIA+ colleagues, partners, and customers are indispensable to our success.  This Pride Month is special, marking a milestone in the lives, livelihoods, and futures of our colleagues, friends, and neighbors impacted by recent events.

We are committed to working with and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community until we reach full equality under the law and acknowledgment of their value in our society.
