Bill Solms, President of Government Solutions at QOMPLX, was quoted in the Fedscoop article, ‘Pentagon’s CMMC assessor training is coming soon despite hurdles, board says.’
“We don’t know exactly what the throughput demand is going to be right up front,’ Solms told FedScoop. But it could be a ‘tsunami’ of companies rushing to become certified with a limited number of assessors and auditors available, he said.”
The CMMC is a five-level cybersecurity system that all Department of Defense contractors and subcontractors must earn certification on. The assessments are done by third party organizations, rather than self-reporting. Training of these assessors was supposed to have begun in April, but it has not yet started.
